Put March 15th on your calendars, for the Fifth and Sixth
Grade Science Fair will be on that day. Come see our experiments
from 2 to 3 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m.. It should be great fun!
To get ready for this big day, the fifth graders recently
explored the process of the scientific method. Students tested
different rubber bands to see how much each one would stretch. Each
student had to follow the 6 steps of the scientific method: 1)
Question, 2) Hypothesis, 3) Control and variable, 4) Experiment, 5)
Conclusion, 6) Application
The conclusion to the
experiment was that the fat, thick rubber band was the strongest
and stretched the least.
For application in our daily life, what would be your answer?
Why aren't all rubber bands the same and why do manufactures make
so many different kinds?
