The Nemaha Valley Schools Board of Education (BOE) met in special session as legally advertised at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2007, at the school, for the purpose of considering option for the future of the district, including possible reorganization issues.
Steve Ruenholl called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and stated that a copy of the Open Meetings Law was posted in the gym.
President Ruenholl welcomed all in attendance and outlined the purpose of the meeting.
A motion was made by Grundman and seconded by Hunzeker to pursue a merger with Tecumseh Public Schools on or before June 1, 2007.
Each Board member outlined their views on the motion and how each reached their decision.
A roll call vote on the motion was held. Bottcher-no, Gerdes-no, Grundman-yes, Hunzeker-yes, Goracke-yes, Ruenholl-yes. Motion carried, 4-2.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m., with the next regularly scheduled meeting to be held on Monday, May 14, 2007, at the school.
